Just a check-up

Hey guys.

Just wanted to see how you guys are faring in the new ladder season?

How many chars and what levels have you lost so far?

Ive only lost one character so far and that was an Ironman druid that died in the chaos that ensued after me and my friends got to lvl 10 and started duking it out, pretty stoked that I havent lost any actual characters so far, its new for me.|||I've started 5 new character, each between level 6-20 now.

And one level 63 Summon Necromancer in Nightmare so far.

I'm not really into playing alone so much these days. So the biggest thing holding back the noobers is finding people around the same levels for those to push forward.

I've suffered no deaths yet.|||Lost a lvl77 light sorc which was my first char this ladder. Details about her untimely (or perhaps timely as I needed to break off the 1year rustiness) demise can be found the hc graveyard thread.

Currently have:

- lvl 90 FO/ES sorc that completed hell. She has pretty good survivability but I want to improve her mf without sacrificing anything else. Want to get her to 95 eventually but kinda of bored of baal runs at this time so just use her for gambling once the money piles up from...

- lvl 87 Gold/MF/BO (~2k gold find, 350ish mf, lvl29bo/shout as an afterthought) barb who does zero fighting and patiently waits to pick up/hork loot once merc kills everything. Have been doing nm travincal runs with him which are extremely easy for 100k-400k gold a run which got a bit boring.

Have just moved on to hell travincal runs which are A LOT harder and take numerous TPs to town, retreating to thin out mobs, and endless potions to keep my merc alive. Only done a few hell runs so far and while the efficiency is probably worse than in nm (at least at this time...) and not to mention a lot more dangerous for the merc and myself, seeing 120k gold piles drop onto the ground is a lot of fun .

That's pretty much it so far. Will be probably starting another 'utility' character soon being either a dedicated bo-barb (I can do this with the current one but that would require keeping a full secondary set of equipment in stash which sucks...), or a smiter for eventual dclone/ubers which I hope to try at some point. Following that will most likely play around with 'normal' characters whose main objective would be to beat hell and that's pretty much it :P.|||None, playing too slowly to die. The summoner is 'stuck' after maggots lair at almost 80, since I finally decided to level someone with teleport/enchant and really start farming bosses. The sorc of unknown final specialization has just made 18.|||Quote:

Are you using leap or warcry?

I have no problems doing hell runs, even with very mediocre gear. My merc doesn't even need potions. :P (Merc is using gladibane for dr, mdr and cbf which seems to work well against hydras.)

Good tactic is to run staight to durance and enter travincal from there.

Edit: switched to threachery and reaper's setup, much faster and takes care of phys immunes as well.|||No characters lost so far. All notwink.

Currently with a level 55 Amazon, soloing, who hasn't done Baal normal yet.

Summoner Guardian now level 87 still soloing, with a mule, found a Ber, Lo, Ist and defeated the Dclone after a respec.

FireBall/FO Sorceress Guardian level 82 soloing, no mule back, found an ist, retiring to safety of act1/act2.

Paladin level 45 partying with a point in every aura and played for light relief, who hasn't done Baal normal yet.|||Quote:

You can get by with a fairly decent BO without having hordes o stuff in your stash dude; my Throwbarb has (only, needs better!) a +3 BO helm and amulet in his stash which I swap out for a blast o BO at the start of a game and if i'm questing and it runs out I rebo with the slightly lower BO or pop back to town if others require the slightly higher one...I could get a better BO with a +2 armour (to say nothing of skillers or an Anni or Torch!) but then that does start to take up stash space!|||I lost one so far, a level 78 poison necromancer which was my first new ladder char. 6 days in the new ladder Diablo clone walked my game. I had never encountered him before. We were with 5 or 6 people and got D's hp down pretty well though it was quite a struggle. Then there was lag... everyone either dropped or left the game whilst I stuck around, which caused my RIP ^^

The others rejoined and beat the clone to avenge my death!! They gave me the Anni afterwards which is currently being used by a new necro (level 89).|||Tried two assassins in the start of ladder, dual claw martial artists. Hard to start off untwinked, and quite frail to begin with. Both died around lvl 20. I'm definately gonna start one again later, but slightly twinked this time.

ATM I've got a berserk/singer hybrid barb in the make. Just killed normal diablo with a lvl 2 concentrate (one from +skills), which was one of the most intense PvM fights I ever had. Running in front of pink lightning with 5 life left hoping diablo doesn't do the fire ring thingy makes the blood pump . Much better choice for a first char than the assassins, more resilient. And I'm lvl 29 now, so my main skills are still coming around. That lvl should come easy since I'm starting A5 now. Next goal: getting an Insight pole as a zerking weapon.|||Quote:
