so i just started HC for the first time. Im really liking it, but my first char was a pally hammerdin, except now im lvl 54 and i am really struggling to level in nightmare cause i have no good gear. I really need runes to make insight and duel spirits, so i tryed doing countess and andy runs, but its really hard without teleport. I leveled mainly in norm chant games and it was really quick to get to level 50
So now im thinking of makeing a sorc specifically for running nm countess and andy. i think can level her to level 50, but i was wondering what would be the best build to go for seeing she probably won't get over level 50. I have played a fair bit of softcore, but always new the sorc would ge tto at least level 80
so im wondering what people think the best build would be to be able to tele to andy and countess and kill them without much problems. keeping in mind i will only have a level sorc to work with.
i was wondering if a duel tree would be good, or stick to one tree cause i have limited skill points
Thanks|||Imho building a new char just to get some Insight and Spirit runes is a total waste of time.
You should be able to get those within a short timespan just running nm countess with that hammerdin. Put on some Sigon's boots or threads of chton or whatever they are called, put on yer Vigor aura and you're good to go. Should have spirits and insight in little time.|||What realm are you on? I have some runes I could trade you if you're on USEast HC Ladder (though I see you're in Australia so maybe that's unlikely).|||Pala is plenty fast! Just need to get used to chugging blues before insight !
With vigor+charge its the second fastest runner after teleporters, and there are no doors to stop charges in the tower so its easy to navigate inside aswell. Also and when charging frw actually doesnt increse speed so its not even necessary! And keeps full block while moving very fast!|||Andy has really bad fire resists, so a fire sorc would be ideal there, but totally not necessary. Orb will decimate everything in early NM with no trouble at all, so I say Orb sorc ftw! As a bonus she can run bosses in Hell for you later.
Seriously, Orb is the death bringer in NM.
Disclaimer: It's so lame. You speed leveled in Norm via chant games, rather then actually playing the game... And now you're desperate for crappy runes/gear. You probably would have already found most of them if you'd just played, instead of rushing though. I won't even get started on the fact that you're struggling in NM with a hammeradin.
-hps|||half the reason i wanna start a new HC character is becuase there are no public games in east ladder nightmare. I started playing HC properly and made a few friends, but then slowly they all died off or started playing chant games, so i when i logged on there was no one to play with, so i joined chant games, which was alot of fun. But now im in nightmare and there feels like there is nothing to do. i can slowly play through the game as its ment to be played but that gets boring after a while when playing by yourself. i may aswell play singleplayer
Yeah i know my hammerdin could do countess, but i have noticed i lag a little sometimes when vigor running though, and when that happens and u aren't killing everything u see i could easy die cause i laged when running past a big pack of monsters.
I am playing a sorc again from the start in chant games, cause they are fun to play and there is always people their, and im thinking of makeing an frozen orb sorc.
thanks for the advice
p.s chant games are mostly ruining norm HC cause everyone is playing them and there are very few people who play the game through normally anymore, so u can try and play through normally by yourself or you can join the chant games and play with people. Alot of you sound like you have level 80+ characters and started before the chant games sprung up, but as someone coming fresh from SC to hardcore im just doing what everyone else is, you can't ridicule me for that when your on your high horse|||i like hardcore, but with the impending ladder reset, i'm wondering what's the point?|||i agree with making the orb sorc it rules nm and you can use it later when u get better gear in hell...i agree also about the chant games which are not 100% safe as well tppk and pk's will hunt you down becareful ...lots of people that havent just started recently like you and me had tons of people to play with in all difficulties ...but now with most people waiting for reset its hard to find games to level with others and enjoy the game in the fashion it was meant to be ...if your on ehcl join the op xbananax channel for some company in games...good luck hope to see you out there
*mastersx and *2|||You could try asking the folks in chant games if anyone actually wanted to play through. Sure, a couple of responses would probably be along the lines of: "WAT? U NUB. WAI GO NORM W/O 2500 FIR DMG?" But who knows, you might find another kindred spirit to game with.
That said, op xbananax is always around. Folks are pretty helpful. I'd take HP_Sauce's post to heart if I were you. Good luck!|||Quote:

charge, then block is maxed and faster! And if the hammerdin cant tank during lag, sorc will probably have even more trouble.
thanks for the advice

People prefer it to doing the old fashioned way, so its making the game better for those doing it. If it isnt for you ,dont do it, but expecting others to play the game the way you want them to is pretty high horsed!
