Also i play USwest, and i get off work at 11, so i usually play at night, leaving me less people to play with. Where do i find more trustable people to play with?
BTW, my name on the game is 'Miroba' and i play ladder.|||Both Gauss and banana (op xbananax I think is the channel name) are friendly channels where people gather.
banana is on UsEast though I think and Gauss on Europe, so you may have to switch Realms to get in there.
KTA is not so much a channel as a group of people doing weekly sessions together. So is ESU by the way, same idea as KTA but on UsEast also. So both of these are probably not what you are looking for in terms of being able to pop in channel and hopefully get some good and friendly games going, even though this weekly session type of gameplay is one of the best I have ever been part of in D2.
I think the best advice is: switch to UsEast asap and check out the dudes in banana and ESU for safe(r) play.|||Excellent KTA made it to a secret society!

Welcome to Hardcore Lucryd
Thank you sir.
I propose we start a USwest hardcore group, for those who dont want to risk the lag on the east coast(or is that not even an issue?)
I met a guy on hardcore the other day, and he was being friendlier than usual. I suspected him to be a pker, even though he was only a 16 druid. Anyways, if it was anybody on here, i apologize for being rude. Im just always looking out for pkers, and anybody trying to pull an ambush.
So anybody lookin for somebody trustable to play with on uswest ladder, my account name is 'miroba'

I think you should try UsEast for a bit and see if it's playable for you, from what I've heard there is just a much bigger player base there, but you may want to wait for some US players to respond

If you must stay on West, Zodwizard is in the process of reviving Thehorde. Give them a try, they are an honorable clan.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm still gaming HC West and have a druid in nightmare and a barb in normal.. my 'builder characters'. I'm still trying to sway more Horde members back for the reset, but most of them have played since the game started and are taking a break.
Our bot is still up and running... power went off here for an hour and didn't realize to just now the bot had been turned off. That's one of the best ways to reach me for a game.
My account is Horde_Zod if you want to game. Got some good starter items and can help with a rush if you'd like.|||I currently live on the west coast (Vancouver), but only play USEast. My ping is higher then it was when I lived in the east.
My ping was generally 50-100 ms.
Now it is more like 100-150 ms.
So the difference is about 50 ms. That's 0.050 of a second additional lag (very small). In a game like Counter-Strike that would be huge... where the headshot wins the game. In Diablo 2... it's nothing at all. It's lag spikes that kill you in Diablo 2, and lag spikes are caused by server ****-ups, not distance. You can get a lag spike in USEast while playing from the east, or the west, just the same. I used to play with a 56k dial-up modem, my ping was usually around 450 ms and it was fine, because it was constant.
Myk also lives on the west coast and plays on USEast. I have never heard him complain. In fact, it's kind of funny that the two folks who generally run the xbananax bot actually live on the west coast.
With that being said. Why not stick around in USWest? Give zodwizard your support. Stick around for a bit, the more populated a channel is, the more popular it becomes. I think it would be pretty cool if these forums spawned a decent channel on USWest. Folks would show up looking for a great place to game, and we would have 3 places to offer. When D3 comes out, the foundations would already be formed, friendships would already be made. We would literally have friends/trusted acquaintances from San Francisco to Austria.
Anyway, that's what I see. The choice is yours.
-hps|||I have a feeling the differences in lag may also have greater effects at higher levels, i.e. particularly in terms of desynch. When I played battle net my ping on west was 200-300ms, and around 400-600ms on East (this is with cable modem from Australia). I found the difference actually quite staggering, as you guys say the delay is not what is bothering, but I could hardly get in a fight without constant desynching, monsters consistently hitting me from half a screen away, the flayer jungle made my hair grey and attempting cows was suicide.
This was one of the reasons I switched to HC single player, but if a good community on West was established I would definitely be down, especially when 1.13 comes out (have looked on enviously many times as CTA runs take place). My account on West is *Machetee (but unlikely to be very active before 1.13)|||Pretty new to D2 in general. Started a necromancer on west. Just trying to get some gear from NM before going on to Hell. Currently lvl 66. Account kerr24
