Most unique untwinked build? ... viable too

We all know about fishy necs and meteorbs... what about some other builds that are pretty good untwinked and viable? I've been getting really bored lately with the same old builds and I want something challenging yet productive. I know that might not be possible but any creative ideas you guys give i'll probably try. and remember... i usually start characters untwinked.

Iam currently going for a Ranged paladin with Holy fire/Fantasm and a zealot/conversion thingy going on.... I'll see how I make it.|||oh ya.. a ranger! that is definitely one i wanted to try on hc.|||Quote:

I would recommend a pheonix striker assassin. I played one in 1.09 to lv 99 and I also have one now who is currently lv 81. I heard that they don't kill that well in hell games with a lot of characters, so I decided to remake mine. And she kicks ***! (I have an infinity on my merc though).

I think if you played one untwinked you would have fun and it would be challenging. I mainly like them because there are so many spells going on when you fight. Also, you have burst of speed which will help you get a fast attack speed or there is also fade which provides phys dmg redux as well as tons of resists.|||i've been playing this game for a while and have yet to get an assassin past lvl 20. maybe with some more focus i'll try that build. phnx strike looks interesting too...|||Hydra sorc with Orb or Lightning as backup for fire immunes.

-hps|||No doubt about it, solo plying through the game on a Static Enchantress is the way to go. In the immortal words of monster truck voice over guy "you'll pay for the whole seat but you'll only need the edge..."

Seriously though, few things get the blood pumping like running circles around half-life Blood Lords in hell while your level 12 unsynergized Hydra pecks at them... It can be pretty viable if you plan for solo play, but that's no fun. Go for a purely support build and solo with it.

Or if not, I'd suggest a Dim Vision/Confuse/Attract Poison Dagger Necromancer. I beat Hell with one last year and aside from the tedium it was quite a hoot. Other fun options include a Convertadin (can be really funny with the Cloak of Shadows charges from Nadir) or a Hydra/Thunderstorm hybrid. The hybrid is a delicate build, relying heavily on a Holy Freeze mercenary and GSpike/Ice Blast/FNova spam to keep your targets relatively stationary. Not as powerful as your classic FWall/Cold Sorceress but gives you a perverse sense of accomplishment. The skill points are tight and the playstyle takes a bit of getting used to as well.

Hmmm.... healer paladin, what about UNhealer and let merc kill.

Unhealers:

Assasin with bow or Necro with bow are both nice.

Try to get poison/monster cannot heal/open wounds for your char. Edge is good enough bow. Venom has too short duration, so don't use that.

Use max corpse explosion/death sentry kill groups.

Max gumby or max shadow mastery for tank.

Use rogue merc (wws, harmony, edge etc...) to help killing the first one.

Kuko is nice option too for both chars, but edge is much easier for untwinked.

For bosses, use resist shield and any crushing blow weapon, even strength runeword (amn tir).



Edge 3 Socket Missile Weapons (Tir + Tal + Amn)

Both poison and prevent monster heal, so its good start. Shoot same monster as you merc, you prevent monster to heal, rogue is your main killer.



Angelic ring+amu, Hsaru's boots+belt or Sigon helmet+gloves are all nice for ar boost. Even without those, you change to hit is good enough for unhealing purpose.
