All was going along as planned as I waltz through normal and Nm mode and hopped into Hell act 1 at level 72. I was wearing most of my elite stuff by then and was headed for the Tower and the Evil Countess. Got to level 3 of the tower and decided I better log on my other account and bring in a looter just in case as it might get ugly in act 2. So I logged my Barb on and Bo'ed my sorc and set loot and proceeded to level 5 of the tower.
Thats where my luck ran out as I teleported into a nasty pack of fanatical archers that took my merc down and me immediately after that. I was stunned I actualy got deeded but I just had to laugh it off and start over with a minor loss of the Infinty axe, Anni, Gheeds, and other charms. So I got my barb down there and he wasted the archers pretty fast. Went over to the bloody corpse on the floor to loot and then I almost had to cry because I forgot to set loot on my sorc.
So, I not only lost my Infinty axe for the merc but I lost my Chains of honor, 26% Lightning ED jeweled Eschutas, Ptopaz Harlequin Snarko, my 28 all Mara's, my 48% Mf War travs, 19/19/7% Anni, 38%Gheeds, Tgod belt, 2 nice 10% fcr rings, and my Rhyme and Occy on swap. All of this stuff was self found items except the infinity and the Ber in the Chains armor so it was rather painful.The only thing I didnt lose was my Sorc Torch as I was only level 72 at death and didnt transfer it to her yet.
So once again I stand in the rogue camp ready to do battle with much less superior items this time . Such is HC mode but Im thinking I may have just lost interest in this ladder season at last ...

It also adds a lovely 50% Magic Find along with 25% from the Rhyme for an Extra 75% just before the Final Kill !!!

Hmm, in hardcore hell the Countesses tower is not a safe place for levelling solo level 72 characters tweaked or otherwise. It ranges from level 74-79 with unique bosses and the countess higher which means your mercenary is giving too many levels away. That is, the moment you stop teleporting (was your fcr sufficient on primary and switch?), he becomes a sitting duck to LI archer packs and very capable of being 1 shotted or at the very least cursed with amp which means death on the next volley.
You need an escape strategy when that happens either making sure the tower stair room is clear to return to or clear a side room first for the same reason. A ballsy hardcore alternative is continuous firing with on the spot teleing, till the enemies are cleared
As a sorceress I might do 1 run to the countess to 'test my luck' but wait till I reach level 80 before regularly running her and the summoner.|||Lol! Noob~!!1

As was said above, no loot deaths are always the worst, and this one in particular sounds pretty rough!
The whole time I was reading the first 1.5 paragraphs I was thinking. "Oh I hope he had his BO/Loot barb in game!" When I read the last sentence in the last 2nd paragraph I thought "Phew! Whatever happens next, at least he got loot." But alas... my hopes were thwarted.
I have a low Griffon's, which is yours if you should decide to rebuild her (and if you want it).
Disclaimer: It actually belonged to Socialism... But after several attempts to give it back to him, I have decided that he doesn't want it/doesn't care about it. So you can have it, unless he shows up and decided he wants it.
However, maybe you should just avoid the game all together until the reset? I think it might be trying to tell you something!
