Starting hardcore

After playing for a couple of weeks with my summoner on sc I think I'm ready to give hardcore a shot. I'm currently thinking some sort of sorc would be a good place to start. But anyone have another suggestion? I want something that can mf with little trouble (I'm thinking a orb/fireball sorc) and be pretty safe while doing it (maybe max block with a rhyme)|||If your looking for something t omf with I always thought the fisheymancer was the best easy to control and I never had mfing problems with it

let me know if you need help|||I have always been under the impression I sucked playing untwinked Meteorbs - it feels weak whenever I enter Hell, the damage just really lacks if you do not MF much in NM. I like the build when I have the gear, though (= Tal's Set).

I usually start SC with a Blizzardess.

For a first timer HC I'd go with a Summoner; pretty safe and can MF.|||What do you want to do with your first HC character? If you want a versatile MFer, I would suggest a Meteorb Sorc. They are not very item dependent and are capabable (although as said in previous posts, not always the fastest) at nearly any MF spot. If you are going to run Hell Andy and Mephisto, this character works wonders.

If you are looking to clear the Pits quickly, a summoning necro with CE works well. A lightning/psn or lightning/strafe or lightning/(whatever) Amazon will destroy pretty quickly and is not very item dependent.

I would suggest picking a character you enjoy and that you can play well. You don't want to be completely learning a new character in HC because one death, and you're gone. Best of luck!|||My knee-jerk reaction to your entire post is:

Build whatever you enjoy playing. It doesn't matter what you choose, because you will kill it before you get it to any useful level/fruition.

My practical answer to your entire post is:

Do NOT build just one HC character.

Build at least two, keep them close to the same level (within 1-2 acts of each other). This way, when you kill one, it won't be like going impotent... you will still have another one at a decent level for MF/fun/etc, and you can enjoy the living one while you rebuild the dead one (better, stronger, and faster).

Not much hurts more then going from charging around Act 4 NM having fun, to going straight back to Act 1 Norm (without loot). If you have a second character in there to bridge the gap, you will be more likely to try again, rather then walk away.

My answer to just the above question is:

Socialism's Orb/TK Blind Teleport Sorc

Most sorc builds work on 3 main principals (in my opinion).

Good, Fast, and Cheap... but you can only have two of them at any given time.

The above mentioned Orb/TK sorc is the only real exception to this rule.

-hps|||sorc is good, but be careful. they die VERY easy, and since you wont have any good gear your sorc is going to drop incredibly fast.

i would recommend a WW barb personally.|||My recommendation: make a hammerdin if you want the best productivity. A few socketed items found from hell cows and pit(which youll easily be able to do untwinked, unlike sorcs) will net you the wealth for enigma, after which you will be unstoppable.

Youlls still have very fast movement with charge in many areas before enigma aswell(hell meph runs for example).

Whereas with a safety sorc build youll have to make a new char from scratch and wont be able to do hell at an efficient manner with it.|||Once you go HC... you never go back.|||Quote:

See I have never been much of a hammerdin, I men it's about the only pally you can make in hc without getting murdered but i much prefer a trapsin/warrior monksin/Summon necro. I have just found them to be the fastest in mfing but maybe that's cause i suck with other chars lol ya never know.

My best advice in play what you enjoy and find some good people to get in with. I am on most everynight (unless my internet if failing epically) You can whisper me at *darklord_theone

I will be more then willing to help you and depending on that char you have I will give you what Items I have that I can spare |||at the moment i am using poison mancer, and i have to say something, I LOVE HIM!!! everything w/o big life bulb dies within seconds, and all i got is +2 necro skills wand ( currently lvl 33 ) and he can clear CS without sweat.
