ladder reset duo questions

So my friend and I are planning a 2 man team for the reset but neither of us have any real HC experience. He is probably going to go hammerdin where as i am undecided so I would like to know what would be best to compliment him in HC play (preferably a zon barb or sin but I'm open to necro or druid suggestions as well). Any modifications to the standard hammerdin build that he might want to look into would be appreciated as well. also any warning about hard spots we might come to with the pair you suggest would help a ton. Thanks in advance guys.

Edit: my friend can be moody sometimes so it is a distinct possibility that i will end up solo anywhere from nightmare onward so something that can solo from there on might be a good idea.|||A fishymancer (skellimancer) would work great with your friend's concentration aura while not competing much on gear. It would also give you the option of playing solo as needed without problems. Just make sure your resists are up to par and stick with your army to be indestructible. Definitely my top choice for your situation.|||yeah fishy was pretty much my fallback plan, I've played them untwinked but rushed so I've never really experienced playing through the game properly with one and defiantly not in HC I'll check out the guide but any particularly hard spots I should know about in HC?

Also I'm still open to suggestions for zon barb or sin.|||Fishy is a safeish option but for performance blizz sorc is top gun.. highest damage untwinked, tele, the works|||There are plenty of things to watch out for on hc, but mostly you die if you stop concentrating, so if youre tired or thinking about something else, youre asking to die.

A few things to stay away from are stygian dolls, black souls in wsk (my 84 javazon got instagibbed from off the screen before i even engaged anything after taking the wp), the worst place is the halls of vaught though, nihlathaks corpse explosion is badass, and there are some supposedly "working as intended" vipers down there with invisible poison clouds of death, see here for more info, point 6 (great post allaround btw).

And always keep your resistances decent on nightmare, and close to 75 on hell.

Also, expect your character to die at some point, sooner or later its gonna get killed, and if you expected to stroll through hell in the first try, thatll be reeeally annoying, but instead of raging and throwing your d2 out the window, take a 5 minute break and remake the char

Either way, just make sure you know what killed/almost killed you, when that happens, so youll know what to watch out for, cause most mobs in the game can be more of a danger than you'd expect.

EDIT: always keep rejuvs in one of your belt slots, its pretty much mandatory if you dont want a mean surprise, saved me a looot of times
