I would like to start incorporating the hell council into my runs in hopes of finding some HR's but I'm freaking scared! So I'm looking for some advice from people that are safely running them.
Here is my gear setup:
Arreats (ptopaz)
Skullders (ptopaz)
Highlords
Lightsabre (amn)
Azurewrath (amn) (with 2 low dmg swords I felt safer pumping the leech)
Laying of Hands
Goreriders
Ravenfrost
8 life leech resist ring (Prob would use dwarfstar for council).
String of ears
With this setup I have resists of:
fire 75
cold 64
light 64
psn 20
Life - 2900ish with BO.
The question on teh table is...is this enough to run the council safely? I have done them a couple times running friends thru but they were always helping. Does howl work consistently enough on the non - boss members to clear room for me? Should I wait until I can get my life up closer to 4k?
So far, I have noticed that when thresh is extra strong (hes always cursed) that I get popped for like 1/5th of my life bulb per schwack and have to rejuv. If the council are frenzy/extra strong etc I'm afraid I might just get pwned.
Does anyone have any tips?|||it's when one's conviction that you really have to watch out.|||Council is scary.
You definitely need to stack some resists, especially fire. I'd take off the Skullders for now, and use a smoke/lionheart/treachery (get fade up before heading to trav if you go this route)
The trick is just knowing when to pack it up and live to fight another day. Any sign of conviction, just get out.
I would do a slow test run in full survival gear, and slowly start adding in the MF gear as you get more comfortable.|||CrushingBlow said my first point for me, a Treachery prebuff is very nice and that way you can still wear the Skullys and assuming you use a Might Merc, if you can get hold of a Reaper's Toll it makes things a lot easier!
Defo Dwarf Star; when the Hydras start rockin' up they will be healing you instead of harrasing you!|||Quote:

Thanks for the input guys.
I will try to get my hands on reapers before I start running. I do have treachery in my stash so I can just make sure to prebuff fade before I go in. I think their conviction is -30, so treachery should put me at 75 res all still with conviction on if I am calculating that right (treach is 60 res all i believe).
Thats a good point with taking it slow. Hopefully with the prebuffed fade I can toss skullders back in and be golden. I plan to howl like a madman and keep war cry going to avoid swarmage.|||Yeah, the other posters are correct, you have to be very careful if one of them spawns Conviction... and note that if you are under Conv and more than one Champion Hierophant (those guys that throw spells and resurrect the dead) hit you with a Blizzard, you are really going to feel it, I almost lost a Druid with max resists that way.
Might or Fanaticism aren't a walk in the park either, their damage is primarily elemental but with either of the latter auras what you have to watch out for is those bloody Zakarumite thingies, they can do a surprising amount of physical once in a while, if some of them are Champs and they critical you while under Might or Fana, look out... keep Howlin' away there son.
One other thing, agreed that Geleb is much more dangerous under Conviction, but watch out for if he is Lightening Enchanted (even without Conv). There are several well-recorded KIAs of HC characters who got a little too close when he died in that configuration, recall that the charged bolts apparently also carry a lot of his FE death splash damage, which is painful enough as it is.

GL to you, that's always a scary but exciting run,
Mr. Bill|||thought they fixed that LE bug in 1.13 though?
