Normal Mephisto lvl recommendation

[:1]im at lvl 26 right now and i have the durance lvl 2 wp. I tried going to give mephisto a try and my skeletons got slaughtered pretty fast (necromancer with warriors mages and iron golem). What level would be a good point if i wanted to try and take Mephisto solo?|||Your level should be fine as long as you're getting to Mephisto in time.

There are a few strategies that are going to be much better than just trying to overpower him like you probably did to everything on the way there.|||First tell us a bit more on which curse and passive skills you have taken, as so far you have only listed the summons that you use.(unless that Iron golem is made out of something really good, then switch it out for a Clay Golem to slow Meph down a bit.)

Personally I am always level 18 before moving onto act 2(I usually kill Andy at level 16), and level 24 before moving onto act 3(I grind the tombs til 24 for decrep before killing Duriel, while at the same time hoping for some decent drops as I am grinding for those levels).

In act 3 I make sure to get 1 point into summon resists as soon as I can, but besides for that I don't really grind except for making sure I completed each quest and have all the Way points, I am usually at about 27 I think? when I face Meph, and he is a piece of cake for me, in fact the counsel members give me a harder time then Meph does. Of course I might be over leveled at this point, but in HC you can't be too cautious.

My skills at this point are usually:

Bone and Poison:

1 Teeth (just to get the next skill.)

1 Corpse Explosion(I find it very useful in the tombs)

Curses:

1 Amp damage (nice to have against normal monsters and sometimes against bosses.)

1 Weaken (just to get the next skill)

1 Terror (just to get the next skill)

1 Decrep (Very good against bosses)

Summons:

3 Warriors

3 Mages

12 Skelly Mastery

1 Clay Golem

1 Golem Mastery

1 Summon Resists

Note this is just an example of what my skills would be like at this point in time and you do not need to follow it at all, make your build as wacky as you want and go have some fun, unless you have fun while not using strange builds.|||My skill set is as follows:

Poison and Bone:

1 teeth

2 bone armor

1 corpse explosion

1 bone spear

1 bone wall

Curses:

2 amplify damage

2 iron maiden

Summoning:

7 skeleton mastery

7 raise skeleton

1 golem mastery

2 clay golem

2 blood golem

1 iron golem

1 summon resist

5 raise skeletal mage|||oops forgot that I had another skill point from act 2. so I would actually have 13 points into Skelly Mastery.

Anyway. The main problem I see is that you don't have decrep. Decrep + Clay Golem = good-great slow speed and you can add an ice mage for extra slow. That slow speed is vital against certain bosses(it is a MUST against normal Diablo, and even then you will probably have to tp away to rebuild your amy.)|||Buy a wand with Decrepify. Gamble a Pike for your mercenary. Use Clay Golem.

This early on, your skills aren't powerful enough to bring down the powerful act bosses, so you'll just have to use the cheap moves to get it done.

OR you can just keep casting Clay Golem and casting Iron Maiden on Mephisto. I've never done it, but it worked in Classic. *shrug*|||Search the forums for Nightfish's summoner necromancer; thar be a build you can take to the bank. Just something to think about.

Also? I'd slaughter stuff in A3 to hit 30 (and get Decrepify) before going after Mephisto solo if it's my only/first character.|||For p1

18 Raise skellies (8 skellies)

1 Clay golem

1 Golem mastery

1 summon resist

1 amp

Rest in skeleton mastery

Run countess from level 10 to 17 for runes and necro heads.

Pluses to skeleton mastery, raise skellies, CE, Decrepify, bone armour off items using finds, shopped items and chipped recipe on cheap blue Drognan wands. Malice pike quite nice else savage polearm from recipe. Stealth for merc and necro.

Get decrepify after Izual. Swap out necro shield for ancients pledge in a round shield when downing Diablo.|||You may have a problem with skill points distribution, as a lvl 26 is usualy largely enough for Mephisto.

Put most of your extra skill points in Skeleton Mastery and Raise Skeleton.

No need to put more than 1 point in Raise Skeleton Mage, any golem, any curse, Bone Armor.

Point(s) in Bone Spear can help a lot on boss.

Use an offensive A2 mercenary (might).

Use Decrepify (lvl 24 skill) on Meph.

A well tuned necro should pass normal Ancients (A5) before lvl 35 (solo).|||Might Mercs are on Nightmare not Normal(or Hell for that matter.).

I believe Normal and Hell A2 Mercs are Blessed Aim(Offensive), Prayer(Defensive) and Jab(or something like that for Combat.).
