[:1]Heya guys, I have made a couple post in newbie forum, and Barb forum....
I have spent more time browsing character builds than actually playing the game of late, basically looking for a path back into Diablo, i love this game but I struggle mainly getting builds rights.
I have never really played HC and want to start now, not sure what to play as (BTW this will be SP and untwicked)... I like having hordes of minions and ranged type characters, but of lack kinda got back into hack and slash...
what would be your advice on a first time character and build? btw when it comes to building a character my down fall mainly is stats and when to put the right number of point into skills.
Regards Karlash|||for first builds there are the usual suspects:
summonnecro, ww-barb, orb-sorc, java-fa or plague-hybrid, light-trapper, ele-zealot, fireclaw druid
some of the come with minions, others are ranged attackers and also there are some melee ones. to each of these there are well written guides available. the strongest of those (untwinked) is imo the java build. in hc i generally always use max block|||For first time in Hardcore like Krupa said you usually want to go with builds that are "better" PVM builds, just so you can the feeling of Hardcore, and learn the basics quite well. And especially as a "untwinked" build you'll want to play a build that doesn't require a lot of good gear.
For general stat location, Vitality is your best bet, then Strength and Dexterity for equipment purposes.
Hardcore, is a lot of fun, I always played SC but once I touched Hardcore, I haven't touched SC since.
Good luck in Hardcore!|||I would vote for either the summon necro or trap assassin as your first build. They both have minions to distract, but more importantly, have ranged spells. This way, you aren't up close and personal with the monsters.|||My personal choice every ladder reset is a blind-teleport orb sorc. Super low budget and super safe. So safe, in fact, that you can just blind teleport everywhere even on a bad connection. The build does limit the character to running meph only in hell but as luck would have it that's the best thing to run while you're still poor and need to build wealth to outfit other characters.
Excellent guide here: http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/s...d.php?t=557123
Keep in mind that this was written before respecs were available. I'd suggest going pure fireball up to level 34-35 now and then using the normal difficulty den of evil reward to respec to orb right around when you would start doing normal baal runs.|||Thanx very much for all your advice guys and gals, really appreciate it, i have started a summoner necro and its going great love my skellies you kill everything..... just wish at times they where a littel more focused at the job on hand but all is well, havent played much this weekend but will start agian soon, almost at the end of act one...
gambling as go well gots some "good" items, all my gears is yellow/gold, also playing on players 8 lol so drops are better and its easer than i thought
thanx again|||If you're looking to play a caster untwinked -- I say Orbitaller. Frozen Orb + Fireball sorceress - straightforward, easy, powerful.
