Hell Countess

So here is my situation. I have a level 76 FO/CL sorc that has just stepped into hell.

Here is the Gear:

Tals Face (24 Ptop)

Smoke Armor

+3 Light ammy

Tal Belt(15% perf )

Tas Orb

Mosers with 2 Pia

10% FCR 15 eng 65 mana 29 LR ring (are u kiddign this is goldy)

10% FCR 22 FR other mods (pretty awesome too)

Some MF boots (might switch to WW's for life since i have max res)

Trang Gloves

I maxed block.

This leaves me with:

700 ish life

75 res all in hell

+4 light skills

+1 Cold skills

The question on the table is:

Can I safely blind tele the countess in hell with this setup? If not, what am I missing (besides obviously about 500 more life ). Should I level up to 85+?

Any suggestions are welcome.

I am running the pits safely, so I am hoping I can improve my gear and gain some levels with those runs (167 mf on my hell setup).

Thanks!|||Depends on your skill/stat distribution, honestly. For example, I did Countess when I first got to Hell as well (~73), and I was fine. That said, I was wearing Whistan's, an absorber/booster in cold & fire (Raven + Hotspur), and had 75% Block with ~lvl 9 ES.|||Quote:

I have 57% block and lvl 6 ES (only 1 pt in TK). But I def dont have any sorb stuff. I was under the impression that phys dmg was way more dangerous in the tower than the ele stuff, esp since I have 75 res all.

thanks for the response.|||Get to level 85 or better. I think 700 life is a bit low; make sure your extra life quests are done and pick up some more +life charms.

Non-upgraded Moser's is sort of weak. It's sort of middle of the road between good blocking and lots of resists.

I think you'd be better off farming Nightmare Baal a while longer to pick up some better items. Or rather, items better suited for survival than MF, if heavy Countess running is what you're after; the countess' rune drops aren't influenced much, if at all, by MF, and there's much better targets for MFing anyways....

MYK thanks for the response. What do you think is a decent budget setup for running countess with only NM Meph/Baal quality items?

Heres what I came up with:

Rock Stopper (PRuby)

Smoke

Upped Visc

Trangs

Spirit Sword

Res Boots

FCR Res Ring

FCR Res Ring

+3 Light Skills Amu

LR/Life Belt

I the only thing I'm missing from this list is Rock Stopper and Visc.

That would put me around at around 900-1000 life (at 85) 10% DR, 75% block, max Resist.

I would need a hell rush and some baals to get to 85, but I think that I have a friend who can do that.|||It's annoying looking for the ruined tower in BM but teleporting down to countess is easy. Started doing it at 78 or so. Unfortunately, all of 'em there are cold immune but I use teleport and my merc to pull them out a few at a time and let my merc have a poke at them while I either have my mf weapon out just for fun or am spamming my 1point CL which does more show than damage =P.

So long as you have 63fcr, 30fhr, 30fbr and around 1000 total health (energu shield can make up half of that if that's your thing) then you should be good as long as you are alert how you teleport.|||Quote:

No, I use a nm act2 defensive holy freeze merc. Strictly for teleporting, a defiance merc would probably be better (maybe: but holy freeze works very well too) but for everything else I find holy freeze to be much safer (as it gives you more time to react to those obscenely fast boss packs) and gives your merc a better chance of surviving when he is mobbed by slowed monsters that are immune to you. So I just stick with holyfreeze at all times.

I'm also an ice sorc and I heard that ice spells stack with holy freeze to make monsters extra slow which is only a good thing. But I'm not sure that's accurate. At any rate, holy freeze works even on cold immunes except on monsters specifically immune to slow like blood lords.|||Honestly, if you are running pits safely then I would imagine you could do countess runs with relative ease. You just need to watch out for the fanatacism monsters lying around in there.

However, I would follow the advice of MYK.
