Which build is the hardcore untwinked cookiecutter for each class?
Necromancer - summoner (a given, imo).
But what about:
Amazon - ?
Assassin - Lightning trapper?
Barbarian - Concentrate Barbarian?
Druid - Wearbear?
Paladin - Hammerdin?
Sorceress - ?|||Sorc - Orbitaller
Ama - Strafe/Lfury/CS hybrid ?|||should be fury/frozen arrow for ama
i heard berzerk was nice for barb too
as for druid i guess windy is be much better than bear
hammerdin is a very bad choice untwinked IMO, you need fc + tanking, too much for start ; maybe foh+something else can fit|||I vote frost zealot for paladin. Is the Orbitaller better than the TK / ES Orb sorc (as per Socialism's guide) ?|||If you plan on doing stuff in hell by yourself untwinked.
The latter is good for bossrunning|||Quote:

Why the thumbs down icon?
The best untwinked builds are generally those that have some really good crowd control abilities.
Amazon: Valk + Lightning Fury. Add in Frozen Arrow stuff or Poison or all out Lightning prowess.
Assassin: Trappers are really popular. Mind Blast + CoS shuts down the game pretty well. There's also the option of getting a pretty sturdy Shadow to help you.
Builds that diverge from the trapper typically include Death Sentry, such a build is the Flash Dancer (Dragon Talon + Death Sentry).
Barbarian: War Cry is a nice build in itself, but requires tons of mana until you can assemble an 'Insight' pole.
Berserk, by way of Howl synergy, fits right in the theme of excellent crowd control ability.
Concentrate is also a strong offering, turning your shield and defense rating into all of the crowd control you'll ever want.
All of them get BO and cool crowd control, so it's hard to go wrong as long as you've got the guts to go melee!
Druid: Summoners in all flavors: Shockbears (Werebear + Shockwave), Hunters (Human form, wielding a bow) and Shaman (Summons + Fire spells).
Wereforms: Fireclaws Werebears (Shockwave <3)
Elementalists: Pure Wind.
Paladin: Hammerdins destroy crowds for their crowd control.
Frost Zealots get a free source of crowd slowing and Hell Viable damage at the same time.
Sorceress: I've seen enough Orb/Teleport/ES builds to fill a dumpster with - They rock!
Blizzard and Meteorb or Orbitallers are pretty much the norm. Frozen Orb+Firewall is really strong if you can aim your spells.
Necromancers: Bone or Summon types are quite the norm. The most powerful and cookie cutter one you can build is the RS/SM/DV/CE Necromancer, which I readily build and rebuild because it's awesome with my crappy items.
I've played or played along with these builds in an untwinked environment in hardcore. I view them all as being reasonably strong enough to beat Hell.|||Can't argue with most of those choices my favourite being the skirmishing javazon with max poison/fury and max valk who never makes contact with the enemy.
Unlike the other notwink builds who can quickly make spirit (twin spirit for hammerdins) and insight with the improved 1.13 nm countess rune drop the javazon can get +3 lancers gloves/+3 lancers/+2 valkyrie throwing weapons straight from the vendors. Add in a peace armour, lore and a +1 gambled amulet tha'ts +10 to javelin skills before finishing off the build with a monarch spirit shield for level 32 javelin skills and a minimum level 28 valk.

Having to save skills till quite late in normal meant this used to be a bit of a slow build at first but 1.13 changes mean the amazon can fairly whistle through normal with say 6 points in powerstrike and 20 in CS before using a respec in nm.|||Quote:

Lol, saw it as a questionmark.. Editted.|||For sorceress it is probably anything fire based. I started the OIA, until I got enough points for the pure orber, which I used as a norm baal glitcher until 60+ to farm useful equip plus whatever needed for a chanter. After that any character can be easily built.|||[QUOTE=MYK;7509865]...

I'm building one, and it's a great starter char. Plenty of life, tough to crack before lvl 30 (lvl 1 concentrate + BO synergy + 10 lvls shout + some life leech makes for an insane tank, merc kills), and once you've got warcry and berserk you're unstoppable.
My plan is to get my barb to nightpare countess to get an insight pole asap. Not for my merc but for my barb itself, since it offers nice damage and critical strike (allthough I might get a second one for my merc, again just for damage as I allready have the aura). Since this is a pretty low runeword, I think it's perfectly safe to plan in an untwinked build. I know I'll find that sol sooner or later, just a matter of time.
