Please add any other you have experienced.|||I used to have a really bad habit. I kept my skills on F1-F8, and I would be holding down Alt to look at the drops, and try to switch my spell to F4...Alt+F4 = not good. It only cost me 1 death, luckily a low level barb to quickly change my approach.|||When I played SC, I was so pumped up that I got an Arm of King Leoric that I immediately decided to go beat Andariel in Nightmare mode.

Along the way I stepped on a fire patch and it proc'd the Bone Prison. And then another Bone Prison. He died with a bunch of prisons around him.

It didn't occur to me at the time that I could have used a Town Portal.

I guess that sort of counts as 'imprisoned yourself'.|||I

deleted a char on error ...lvl 80 char lost.

hit the windows key on my keyboard while surrounded by frenzy minotaurs and got almost killed.

teled to throne, was typing "tp safe" got swarmed suddenly and were unable to hit the juv buttons because of the text message, too panicked to hit return.. alt F4.

pressed "teleport" instead of "fireball" and teled into the nila vipers pack.|||I left my computer on and came back to my 3 year old deleting chararters on my account a few ladders back. Deleted a couple level 80 plus characters before I caught her...

Was messing around with a certain Banana member and she hit the hostile button and waxxed an up and coming Bear Druid at level 75+...

Died to a random port on that acursed Occulus after they added that random port mod.. I refuse to use it any more...

Got a new comp a few years back and had to pry the Windows button at the bottom left out with a screw driver due to Deeds !!

Here is a good link to disable the windows key. I forgot to mention that one it has killed me before but only at low level.

This is also another alternative... This keyboard will prevent windows key and external programs like antivirus messages from interrupting the game.

If the above had been posted by anyone else, I would not have believed it. But as it is... it is probably one of the funniest D2 death stories I have ever seen, though it is sad that it was in SC.

I was definitely saved by a level up once. Don't remember exactly what was going on, but I remember thinking "holy ****, that was lucky!"

And one time back when I was new to HC (in 1.09) I got myself into a mess and tried to mash Alt+F4 to bail out of the game before I died. Once I had returned to the Windows desktop I realized that I had in fact pressed Alt+tab, so the game was still running and my character was very much dead.

I also used to be really good at holding down the Alt key to see items on the ground, and then pressing the Tab key to open the mini map... which would conveniently minimize the window and leave my character helpless. This one never actually resulted in a death because it would generally happen after a battle, when I was examining my plunder... but it sure did scare me a few times. This hasn't happened for many years though, I am not sure if my left hand is able to press Alt+Tab anymore while in game... it just naturally refuses to do it, one or the other, but not both.

One time I woke up in the morning after a long night of drinking + D2 and was missing a pretty valuable charm, I was annoyed and figured I had sold or lost it during some random drunken clicking... but I actually found it in my stash later on - lucky.

Another fun one - which I myself have not done yet, but I've heard many others do - is accidentally placing a gem (or worse) a valuable rune into a socketed item while trying to move things around in your inventory. Um'd Wirts Leg ftw!

To get back on topic, to the OP; yeah, i've done all of the above 'cept Alt + F4 at the Ancients, I just cast a TP if they are mugging me off!
