[:1]Im trying to make a summon necro who is resistant to his 2 main threats, souls and claw vipers (bone spear). Before i type up what im thinking, i have some major questions. I have researched and these are what im left with.
1) What is the damage on souls. I assume thier lvl of lightning goes up +7 for being unique, and +4 for being champion; but i dont know what lvl to base that off of, or are they unique in themselves in terms of lightning attack.
2)Same goes for the claw viper bane spear attack.
3) I have heard there is some special way Magic Damage Reduce is stacked that makes it effective. I know its goes MDR, %res,$absorb,absorb; making MDR irrelevent. If there is a special way it stacks, im guessing safety items will be very useful for even thier +2 MDR.
4) Does block work against thier bone spear? (im guessing no)
Currently thinking about Lightsaber for wep, Tgods/string on belt, 2Xwisp projector/1 Dwarf Star, viper vs GA, shako vs kira's vs i dont know.
Trying to combine for highest possible damage reduction of both souls and spears through res/absorb for lightning and MDR for spears. Currently estimating at 250 damage per spear and a pack of 5 souls w/ unique doing a combined 20K damage. All guesses though. I dont want to show math thats using incorrect numbers.
All in preperation for a nice month long winter break : )

I don't think you're going to reduce the bone spear attacks very easily. There's like, one item that offers +%Magic Res and there's just not enough MDR to help very much.
Thundergod's Vigor, by itself, pretty much negates Souls' damage as long as your resists are maxed and/or not under the effects of Conviction. The extra resists and integer absorb makes it more powerful than any other option.
It's rare that Vipermagi and Thundergod's Vigor is a bad combination. Kira's for a hat would be interesting, depending on which class is wearing it.
Just copying some of Onderduiker's post on the AB forum, Souls do around 200-300 L. Damage, which goes up 6.25% for each additional player in the game, reaching 287-431 per hit. On top of that, monsters have a 5% chance of critical hit, which doubles their damage. >_>|||[TGod's] + [a little MDR] will negate lightning damage from just about any source, including Souls.
Bone Spears? Good luck with that. I'd recommend dodging them.
